Description:
W. R. Pape 12 gauge, BLE, double triggers, 29 5/8" barrel length. Pape is sometimes referred to as the "Purdey of the North". This is a high quality gun. It was sleeved and refinished in England about 25 years ago and not used since then. The action has a barrel extension, double triggers and is colored case hardened. The safety is automatic. it is number 2 of a pair. It has a gold initial oval and is nicely scroll engraved.
The left barrel has .014" choke and the right has .012" choke. Chambers are marked 2.5" on the water table. However, my chamber gauge goes in to the 2 3/4" mark. Bores are mint and the metal finish is 99%+. The rib is a swamped type.
The stock is a straight grip with a splinter forend. The finish is again 99%+ and is of high grade European walnut. There is a leather covered recoil pad which does show some wear. LOP is 14 9/16", Weight is 6.55 pounds. Drop at comb is 1 5.8" and at heel is 2 9/16". It is a very lively gun.
