Here is a very rare Winchester Model 1894 Sporting Rifle in the most desirable caliber. The serial number of this early First Model is #33XX placing date of manufacture in 1894 a First Year Production rifle. This rifle is referred to as a First Model do to the Loading Gate retaining screw is on the exterior of the receiver in the 10 O'Clock position. Overall condition is fine with 60-65% of the original untouched factory finish, very rare to find these early ones on this condition. The bore is near perfect with strong rifling and shine from muzzle to breech. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 80% of the original factory varnish remaining. This rifle is an investment quality Antique, priced to sell.
