If you have been looking for a new do-it-all type of rifle this Weatherby Vanguard chambered in .257 Weatherby magnum would be an excellent choice. These rifles are guaranteed to shoot 1 MOA or better with factory ammunition and they are very well made and reliable. This particular rifle has been very lightly used and looks good overall, but was stored in a gun room that had some humidity problems causing little spots of light surface rust that have since been removed. As you can see from the pictures, the tiny dark speckling in the factory blue finish is very hard to see, and only visible under close inspection. The bore is in perfect condition, free from any visible imperfections, pitting, or erosion. The rifling still looks like-new and shows sharp lands and grooves throughout. The factory black synthetic stock is in excellent condition and comes with a factory installed recoil pad and sling swivel studs. The length of pull on this rifle is just under 13.5" inches to the end of the pad. The action on this Weatherby is superb, it is slick and precise when worked and locks up tight with no wiggle. All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order, just like the day it left the factory. The trigger is excellent, it breaks like a glass rod with a light pull with no excessive travel or slop. This Weatherby Vanguard is factory drilled and tapped for optics and is not equipped with factory iron sights. The .257 Weatherby Magnum chambering is a flat-shooting fast cartridge that is ideal for medium game and varmints in North America. Factory loaded ammunition is widely available. This Weatherby would be an excellent addition to any sporting gun collection, and for the money is one of the best rifles available.
