The Blaser R8 straight-pull bolt action locks by a 14-lug radial collet in a 360 degrees groove in the barrel and is designed to withstand pressures significantly exceeding the Mauser 98–type bolt-action rifles. The Blaser R8 has an uncommon detachable box magazine/trigger unit. When detached it renders the rifle inoperable and safe. The compact detachable box magazine/trigger unit contributes to balancing the rifle, as the Blaser straight pull action is about 50 to 60 mm shorter than conventional bolt actions. The Blaser R8 has elastomer inlays on the forend and pistol grip for enhanced grip. 3 receivers for sling swivels: butt stock, forearm and barrel. Chambered in the popular long range caliber of 6.5 creedmoor. A one-piece Savannah synthetic stock with black thermo-elastic inlays, ergonomic pistol grip and rubber recoil pad. The Blaser R8 is a truly modular system built around an aluminium alloy frame, offering differing stocks and barrels varing length and thickness. The Blaser is unique because the scope mounts on the barrel instead of the receiver. A Scope/barrel assembly can be removed and replaced with no change in zero. The stock is shatter-proof and thermo-stable even under extreme temperatures. Has an ergonomically optimised pistol grip. Elastic inserts in the forend and in the pistol grip offering a good grip which make for secure handling in any shooting position and under any weather conditions. Comes with owners manual. No box.
