Description:
Serial #C16944, 45 ACP,5" replacement factory government contract barrel with a bright excellent bore. The only marking on the barrel is a small "G" on the bottom of the chamber forward of the lug. This fine 1915 made commercial pistol retains strong condition with about 85% original blue finish. The grip frame having toned to pewter, but the grip safety still has strong color along with moderate edge wear, and a few scratches. The double diamond checkered walnut factory grips rate very good with light to moderate diamond point wear on both panels at the butt...There is a later professionally applied inscription below the ejection port on the slide that reads "C.M. ADAMS / TOLEDO O. /U.S.A."... This nice Colt 1911 pistol includes a two-tone magazine with plain pinned base. Overall, this is a fine condition early Government Model 1911 pistol, made for commercial sale...With the exception of the barrel, the rest of the parts appear to be original to the gun...Research reveals, there was a C.M. Adams, from Toledo, who was an LT in the army, during ww1...Will consider trade for small bore sxs shotgun...
