Description:
Just purchased from the grandson of the WWI Veteran who brought it back from the war is this exceptional condition 1911 pistol with a Colt numbered frame (serial range 316xxx) and a Springfield un-numbered slide. Probably swapped during a cleaning session in the trenches with other GI's. Yes we wish it was all Colt or all Springfield but it is what it is. The previous owner's father installed a pair of cheap plastic faux stag grips on the gun sometime after WWII (present when we received it) and so we have installed a pair of reproduction 1911 double diamond grips. None the less an exceptional 1911 - just look at the photos! This gun has not been refinished or restored.
