Description:
Winchester Model 1894 Sporting Rifle .38-55wcf. The serial number of this example is 1643 placing date of manufacture in 1894 a first week of Production Rifle. This rifles model is referred to as a 1st model due to the Loading Gate retaining screen being on the outside in the ten O'Clock Position above the Loading Gate. The retaining screw was moved to the interior of the receiver. Very rare Gun!!! The rifle is untouched and mostly patina. The bore is way above average and will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. Bright and shiny from breech too muzzle with strong rifling. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. very early 1894 must for the Winchester Collector. Priced to sell....!!!
