Description:
Parker Bros. Grade 1 in 10 gauge, featuring a under-lifter action, 32" twist barrels, unknown chokes, extractors, 2 5/8" chambers, rebounding hammers and double triggers, checkered walnut stocks and metal butt-plate. Dimensions: LOP 14", DAC 2”, DAH 3 1/2”, and cast-off approximately 1/4". Weighs 10 Lbs. Manufactured in 1875. Serial Number, 6501. Issues & Condition: Serial number on the trigger-guard (2876) does not match the serial number of the shotgun (6501) which is stamped on the barrels, action and forend metal. Metal Condition: Barrel to action fit and action to wood are a bit loose, right firing pin is short and the spring is missing or broken, bore pitting throughout, two dings in the left barrel, chokes are unknown as we do not have a choke gauge for 10 gauge guns. Wood Condition: Crack on the right side of the wrist of the stock, begins at the tip of the side-plate and extends upwards to the top tang. The remaining areas of the shotgun are in relatively good condition. Barrels to action lockup is tight when forend is attached, forend locks tight to barrels, barrels ring is true with good sound, rebounding hammers work well, triggers are smooth and crisp, the rear trigger takes a little bit more trigger pull, under-lifter lever works smooth and locks tight, checkering has little wear, forend wood in good shape with no cracks, butt-stock, save for crack mentioned above is in good shape with the usual scratches, nicks and dings, though there is a strong scratch in the wrist on the left side, and the wood at the toe is a bit scratched and gouged but protected from worst damage by the metal butt-plate.Please Note: There are 12 photographs of the shotgun and all can be viewed and supersized on Cabela's Gun Library .
