Description:
A very very large copper bottomed tin coffee pot.  In good condition,  Stands about 15 inches tall overall with a 13 inch base and will hold 4 1/2 Gallon capacity filled to the brim. I would call it a 4 gallon pot. This is the real deal likely used on round up in Arizona as I bought it in an antique store in Clarkdale Az. 40 years ago. It does have a tiny pin hole that leaks but, on a camp fire you would not notice it. This is the type of pot old cooky kept on the fire all day. Made to handle a big round up, were the common 2 gal. pot just wouldn't do.The best cowboy coffee, in my mind, comes out of a cowboy coffee pot. Once the campfire is going, fill the pot with cold water and, when it boils, dump in the coffee grounds. (The only way to know how MUCH coffee is to work at it.  Your comfort zone may range from 3/4 cup per quart of water to twice that.) .  Let it cook for a minute -- no longer! -- and set the pot in a protected spot to steep for 5 minutes. A soft, sandy soil works well as an insulator here, and it's a good idea to cover it with a small towel. This is a vintage Coffee Pot with a bale handle.  This pot is the type that was used on the trail. The grip on the bale handle is wood.  The condition is good with NO dents, breaks or cracks. I doubt you will find another. I have only had two and this is the best one.
