Description:
This 1847 Springfield musketoon is dated 1851 on lockplate and proofs are well defined on the barrel. The stock is a light color one with a small piece of wood replaced
in front of the trigger guard. There is some burnout and pitting at the breech indicating lots of field use. There are initials carved on back side of stock near the buttplate.
US stamped on brass buttplate and a cartouche is visible where there is use on the stock opposite of the lockplate. The caliber is .69 and the ramrod is replaced but the swivels appear original. I don't know if the saddle bar is original or not. This is a scarce gun used by the 1st and 2nd mounted dragoons. Free Shipping.
