OR 16GA. PRE SWEET SIXTEEN SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN MADE IN BELGIUM WITH MATCHING TWO BARRELS (30" & 26") IN ORIG. CASE. Serial number "59,9XX" and matching on both barrel ring lugs, screws, receiver, and wood. 2 9/16" chamber length in both barrels. Made for the American market with receiver having "Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre Herstal Belgique" on left side above grade 2 floral engraving. Both barrels with "Browning Arms Company Ogden Utah". 30" choked "Full 16 Special Steel" with raised matted rib and mint bore. 26" matching barrel choked "Modified 16 Special Steel)" and also with mint bore and raised matted rib. Grade 2 floral engraving crisp as day it was applied. All markings including proofs crisp and clear also attest to it's factory original finish never being comprimised. Screws (numbered to gun) un-turned, 100% factory blue overall. Factory wood with crisp checkering and almost no signs of handling. Original 14.5" LOP over original FN buttplate. Original spring and rings set up currently for light loads. Apparently the Grade 2's were ceased in 1937 and my assessment of year of production clashes with various sources between 1928 and 31 but I'm going with Eastman's book on "Browning, Sporting Arms of Distinction" who seems to have good handle on production. Case is original to gun with Model 1930 Mod B two barrel case with purple interior. Corners of case reenforced with brass straps professionally done. Nice original grouping of two barrel matching A5 in honest condition with beautiful Belgian engraving. Only thing in case besides gun and extra barrel is original Shock Absorber(barrel rings) red hanging tag that explains use of rings for magnum/light loads setup. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
