Walther P38 .22 LR Caliber Pistol. Very unusual .22 pistol that appears to be a factory conversion of a 9mm service pistol into a .22 LR. The slide has a panel that has been polished smooth for the current .22 markings, with the rest of it having the usual matte finish. The slide is dated 4/67, while the frame is proof dated 1968. The box is numbered to the gun and the label has “cal .22 LR” stamped on it. The test target is numbered to the gun, but the number has been overwritten from a different number, and was originally a 9mm target. An interesting and unusual version which we’ve never seen before. Excellent overall condition with box, papers and extra magazine.
