ORNATE & ENGRAVED Antique EUROPEAN Belt Pistol
Circa 1850 Handsome Self-Defense Pistol
Here we present an Ornate European Antique Back Action Percussion Pistol, manufactured in the mid-19th Century. This pistol would have resided in the belt or holster of a man in the mid-1800s. This pistol is small enough to not be burdensome while big enough to make someone think twice before bothering the carrier. This pistol has a .46 caliber octagonal barrel with a swirling Damascene pattern. The brass trigger guard is handsomely engraved with a game scene, while the lock and hammer are engraved with a scroll motif. The wooden stock is fluted at the grip, which is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The ramrod is made of steel and includes a removeable worm on the concealed portion. The only visible markings on this pistol are the Roman numeral assembly numbers throughout.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have a light patina. The engravings are clear. The stock is in great shape. The bore is clean with nice rifling. The action on this pistol is excellent. This very attractive European self-defense pistol would make a fantastic display and could be the centerpiece of your collection!
