Description:
This is one of the 25 or so guns Jaqua’s had upgraded from Grade 1 to above a Midas Grade. The shotgun were sent to Browning when times were slow for the Master engravers for the upgrade. Only Browning master engravers that were loyal to Browning and did not do outside work were given the privilege to work on these shotguns. The shotgun were brought to a minimum of a Midas grade. This fine shotgun has considerably more detail than a standard Midas grade. This is a post salt-wood gun and looks fantastic. The right side of the receiver has a puppy flushing a grouse with a grass and woods background and full scroll engraving around the gold line work. The bottom has a Quail in flight in a woods and brush scene with full engraving on the forearm metal, bottom of the receiver and trigger guard with a black area for initials. The left side has a pointer on full point flushing a grouse with birch and pine trees and full scroll engraving around the gold line work and is signed by J.M. Debrus. The shotgun has 28 inch blue barrels with a file cut vent rib and is choked FULL and IM. The walnut stock is a Midas grade with an oil finish and matching beavertail 3 piece forearm. The shotgun has a Browning trap butt pad and a gold pigeon on the bottom of the pistol grip. This is an outstanding shotgun ready for the field and range.
