Description:
This Winchester was produced in 1889. The shotgun's serial number is 24357. It is fitted with a 30 inch barrel. This 10 gauge is chambered for the 2 7/8 inch shell. It also has the factory sling eyes as a special order. The stock is marked as number 2 X fancy wood. The reciever also has the line engraved outline that is seen on deluxe grade shotguns. The front sight is the ivory bead style. The original barrel blue would rate a 97% overall condition. The reciever is mostly silvery with traces of color case finish. The hammer retains the color cased finish. The breech block and lever show good color cased finish on the top and in protected areas. The wood is stunning and retains almost all of the original finish! The checkering is in fine condition and shows little wear. The assembly numbers match throughout the shotgun. The bore is bright with no issues. The action is tight and works great. This is a well preserved shotgun that has been cared for all these years. There is no abuse or altered parts. This shotgun's condition is certainly in the high collectors status! Most of these 1887's have seen hard service and use. This deluxe model is a collectors dream to have for their collection!
