Abercrombie & Fitch was once a company that outfitted presidents, pioneers, authors, actors, and explorers. David T. Abercrombie founded Abercrombie Co. in Manhattan on June in 1892. Selling upscale fishing, hunting, and hiking gear. This was the era of Teddy Roosevelt on safari, a time when dignitaries and celebrities would go on expensive outdoor excursions. These affluent outdoorsmen became the target audience of Abercrombie Co. Fitch joined theanization in 1904. A&F was known as, “The Greatest Sporting Goods Store in the World.”
