Full custom Mauser on a surface ground G33-40 action with all military marks removed in .270 Winchester by Winston Elrod of Chesaning, MI. 22" Flaig's featherweight contour barrel without open sights. Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x10 with duplex reticle mounted in sculpted S & K rings and bases. Jasper Rayburn 2 position side swing safety. Bolt, ejector, and magazine follower finely jewelled. Two panel tear drop bolt knob checkering. Checkered bolt release. Blackburn trigger and trigger bow floorplate release. Stocked in an extremely nice piece of Turkish Walnut in American Classic style. This stock exhibits highly contrasting dark streaking and nice figure. Shadow line cheekpiece, steel pistol grip cap, and checkered Niedner style steel buttplate. 13 3/8" LOP Extremely well executed point pattern 28 LPI checkering with mullered border that wraps the forend and is up and over the pistol grip. 7lb 13 oz as scoped. This is a well executed light weight mountain type rifle of the highest quality. It is stocked in an outstanding piece of wood and remains in near new condition with light handling marks. Mr. Elrod has been building guns for 40 years. His inletting and checkering is second to none.
