This rifle is in good condition, but missing ramrod. The stock is clean, solid, but appears to have been refinished in the distant past. The barrel bore is strong with very limited/scattered areas of pitting. This is a Fully Functional Rifle and has been fired by me multiple times in the near past using cased 50-70 Black Powder Ammo from Buffalo Arms Co. The butt plate is marked "U.S." and barrel bands are "U" marked. Center fire breechloader, two bands, two sling swivels, and standard sliding sight. Lock is marked with an eagle and U.S. SPRINGFIELD, as it was manufactured by Springfield Armory, Springfield Massachusetts. It is marked 1863 on the tail of the lock plate and 1870 on the breech. Serial numbers on this rifle match. Selling duplicate items from my collection and priced to sell. Shipping is extra.
