Description:
Winchester Model of 1873 Sporting Rifle with special order 30 inch Factory Octagon Barrel and Single Set Trigger. The serial number of this example is 41XX placing date of manufacture in 1875. Overall condition is very good and untouched. Most of the original factory finish has turned to a very nice smooth patina. Original factory rust blue will be seen in protected areas. The bore is near perfect (often found with first models ?) The brass follower is untouched and has a very nice mustard patina. The Single Set Trigger is mechanically sound functioning perfectly. On the top flat of the Barrel just forward of the receiver the name B.C. Turman will be seen roll die engraved. B.C. Turman was a frontier gun store in Santa Barbara, California and a Winchester representative. Like Browning Brothers in Utah, they marked their inventory as a form of advertising. I wish this one could talk! 1875 was a very interesting time, one year before the Little Big Horn battle! The best of the collector quality 1873's. Please phone Tommy at (760)-912-3761 or E-Mail all questions and concerns. $35.00 shipping. Insurance will be additional.
