Old combination of M1861 and M1863 Type I Musket parts, Caliber: 58 percussion. M1861 Lock Plate has US Watertown, American Eagle and is dated 1863. It has a M1863 barrel appears likely cut down in the past, has a brass blade for front sight, no rear sight. However, the barrel markings shows sharp, proof marks “V / P/ Eaglehead”. Musket has second eagle on the nipple bolter, barrel appears to have been re-blued. It has three barrel bands, and a US marked steel butt plate. Stock has very old spliced wood in front of trigger making it possible two piece stock. Crack on the right side of the stock. Numerous handling marks. Priced to reflect M1861/M1863 musket variances.
