Description:
Civil War Era “P1853” Enfield Percussion Rifle/Fowler.  Lock Plate marked with British Crown, 1862 and Tower with correct/original hammer.  The ~34-inch barrel bore is clean and unrifled.  At the breech end of the barrel, the following marks are present; Birmingham / Provisional Proof (a crown over BP), a bore gauge number (25 gauge for the regulation bore size - .577 caliber), and the View mark - crossed scepters with a crown.  Has replaced wooden ramrod.  With fixed rear and bead front sights.
