Description:
English sidexside 22 GA flintlock. Made by JN Whitehouse. This exquisite double original flintlock is a beautiful example of British 18th Century craftsmanship. The locks are turn of the century rain proof pan design. The frizzen springs are roller ends. Lock mechanism is excellent! Both safety notches and full cock positions are perfect! The gun is a pleasure to shoot! I have broken clay targets and shot Pheasants, Chuckars, and Quail with this fine double. The lock time is very much like a percussion gun. Both touch holes are platinum plugged. The hindged breaches allow for easy cleaning and maintenance. The engraving is beautifully execuited on both locks, trigger guard, barrel tang, entrance thimble, and butt plate. The trigger is large to accomodate a gloved hand. Pineapple moutiffs adorn the trigger guard and entrance thimble. Original old ramrod! Tubes are straight, true and smooth with no dents or damage. They are 27 7/8" in length. Drop at heel: 2 1/4" 14 1/2" pull. I am 6' tall. The gun fits me like a glove! The English walnut stock is quite figured with beautiful grain. No major stock damage outside of minor scratches and dings.
