CIVIL WAR SAVAGE REPEATING FIRE-ARMS CO. U.S. ARMY CONTRACT PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER CA. 1861-62. All original and matching serial number 4900. Six shot .36 cal. with 7 1/8” octagon barrel. Top strap stamped with maker name and 1856, 1859 and 1860 patent dates. U.S. Army Ordnance Sub-Inspection letter stamps (H) on barrel, frame and cylinder. All original including all the screws and in very good plus condition. Traces of blue mixed with dark original brown patina. Excellent grips showing moderate use. Perfect working order and very good bore and chambers. Issued to many Western U.S. Volunteer cavalry Regiments including 13 from Missouri, 2 from Wisconsin, 3 from Illinois and the 7th Penn. Cavalry to mention only a few. Nice example.
