The condition of this WWI icon is just super. It has retained about 97-98% of the original Erfurt finish. It was one of thousands that the were returned government from what is believed to be a "Buy Back". These guns were retrieved from soldiers who took them home by the thousands. The "1920" believed by many to be a rebuild date was in fact a military property mark to prevent the guns to from being sold back to the government more than once.
The strawed parts are somewhat fadded from age and would rate about 70-75%. The frame, slide, bolt, barrel, take down lever, trigger and side plate all have the proper Erfurt proof marks. All serial numbered parts match including the correct wooden based magazine. This is shown in white wax crayon in the pictures.
The checkered grips are in as minty condition and, not chip, ding or split, not even a flattened point anywhere. The slide rails, bolt face and feed ramps show very little if any use. The bore is as pristine as the gun. Sunshine bright, razor sharp without a spot of frost anywhere. It comes with one correct matching wooden based magazine.
