Description:
This is one of the nicest early-1943 production Colt 1911A1's in existence!  This Colt 1911A1 is absolutely beautiful and appears to be un-issued and un-fired.  It comes 100% complete just like the day it left the factory during World War 2 with the original serial numbered Kraft paper box, anti-rust wrapping paper, 3 total original mags with 2 still in the original wrapping, and a U.S.G.I. cleaning rod still in it's original wrapping.  If you been looking for a "centerpiece" example for your 1911A1 collection this is it.  For all intents and purposes it would be impossible to upgrade from this gun.  The Colt factory-numbered slide and frame match, and all of the parts in this gun are original and 100% correct.  All of the original factory stampings are clean and intact, and all of the factory and U.S. Military inspection stamps are present and correct, including the "G.H.D." and "P".  The original factory parkerized finish on this Colt rates 99% with no finish wear and only some tiny handling marks that you have to look extremely close to find.  As you can see from the pictures, this Colt has a beautiful green-gray parkerizing that is uniform and clean from one end to the other, with a very nicely defined hardening line on the front 1/4 of the slide.  To be honest we never rate anything 100% so that should tell you the high value of a "99%" rating.  The factory blued barrel also rates 99%, with the only deduction coming from the faint ring around the barrel near the muzzle where the bushing causes metal-to-metal contact.  The bore is mint and pristine with perfect rifling and no visible imperfections whatsoever.  The original checkered brown plastic grips are like-new and in mint condition as well, free from any wear, cracks, chips, scratches, or repairs.  All of the controls on this Colt are in 100% perfect working order, and the action is smooth and tight on the frame.  The original issue magazine is in like-new condition and also in perfect working order.  The blue finish on the un-marked magazine (correct for a Colt factory magazine) rates 99%.  The original Kraft paper box the Colt comes in is 100% solid with good corners and has minimal soiling on the exterior.  The original Colt factory stamp on the lid is still nice and clear, and although the serial number of the gun itself is very faint, it is still legible and correct.  The two extra magazines and cleaning rod have never been opened and remain in the original anti-rust wrappings.  We can safely assume that they are in like-new condition!  All-original and correct early-1943 World War 2 Colt 1911A1's that are as beautiful and complete as this one are extremely rare, and they have proven to be superb long term investments.  If you have been looking for one of the best in existence to add to your collection here is your chance!
