Description:
#4971 Colt SA 7-1/2”x45COLT, 155XXX range (1893), with VG+/Fine bore, about a 7-1/2 to 8 on a scale of 10 and having a tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer. The neutral grayish metal is very fine and smooth with no pitting at all and no mentionable bumps or dings from ill-use. It does retain some very faint ( be sure to pay attention to the word, “faint”) amounts of thin blue in some of the protected corners and some strong bright (fully protected) glassy blue under the ejector rod housing. Fine markings, the original and highly desirable Eagle hard rubber grips are obviously the correct original grips to this revolver with 20-30% wear overall, no chips or slivers, and a very handsome appearance. This is FAR above the average condition for most Single Actions that are usually found priced in this same age and price range and it does not appear to have ever been “enhanced” to raise the value.
