DWM 1914 GERMAN Police Rework LUGER Pistol
WWI-Dated Pistol Modified for Police Use Post-War
Here we present a World War I Dated P.08 Luger Pistol, made in 1914 by DWM in Berlin, Germany. The Luger became and remained the iconic sidearm of Germany in both World Wars. The one bear the acceptance marks and proofs of the Imperial German military on the right side of the frame. It is dated “1914” on the top of the chamber. This indicates that it was used throughout the Great War. After Germany’s surrender and the imposition of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was limited in its arms production, the type of weapon and number of weapons.
This one received the “Police Rework”. A sear safety was installed and the magazine disconnect disabled. The military/police flap holster is marked “ROBERT LARSEN/BERLIN/1934” on the back.
The overall condition is very good. 70% of the original blue finish remains. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match to include the grips, though not the magazine. The bore is clear and bright. The walnut grips are in great shape. The action is strong. Holster is in good condition.
