Manufactured for only 3 short years between 1971 and 1973, the Ruger Old Model Blackhawk convertible with cylinders for the .45 Colt and .45 ACP cartridges are very sought-after today. This particular example was made in 1972 and is in beautiful all-original condition. This Blackhawk has never been back to the factory for the transfer bar modification and has spent almost it's entire life in storage, as it appears nearly unfired. The original gloss blue factory finish 98 to 99%, and thats with having to look extremely close to find anything that justifies a deduction. The bore in the barrel and cylinder bores are mirror-bright and minty, with zero visible imperfections. The original smooth American Walnut grips are also beautiful and in excellent condition overall, perfectly fit to the gun and free from any imperfections outside of a few tiny handling marks. The action on this Ruger has to be felt to truly be appreciated. The action is smooth and precise, with 4 nice loud clicks and perfect timing whether worked fast or slow. This Ruger functions just like it left the factory yesterday and not 47 years ago. As mentioned earlier, this Old Model Blackhawk comes with an original un-numbered box (correct) and the extra cylinder numbered to the gun in it's original box and pouch. The cylinder is a factory fit cylinder, functions perfectly, and is in like-new condition. If you have been looking for a top collector-grade Old Model Blackhawk .45 Convertible, this 1972 example would be a superb choice. It would be nearly impossible to upgrade from this beauty!
