Description:
Original 1st Pattern 520 mm 20.5" Short Tang BLADE; EARLY Model. Beautiful example of French Lebel Bayonet in excellent condition documented in Paul Kiesling "Bayonets of the World" book page 174 (drawing 410). It has a cruciform straight cruciform blade tapering down to the point with some grease, NO NICKS, with minor light aging spots, handling marks-scratches with intact tip that fits the scabbard properly. Cylindrical Silver alloy grips in great shape with just very few minor scattered tiny bruises, scratches-handling marks. Silver-alloy early Cross hilt in white alloy medal with the swept forward quillon, muzzle ring, early raised circular knurled checkered press release catch in good working condition. Steel medal circular straight scabbard in beautiful shape with NO DENTS, with some finish imperfection, some loss mixed with even pleasing patina, some fine freckling, showing a finial tip with intact loop.
Wonderful example of the UNCUT ORIGINAL Lebel BAYONET & Scabbard will make a great addition for your military Collection!
