This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, extractor, yoke, and barrel with the metal retaining 75-80% of an armory reapplied blue finish that has faded to a smooth plum-brown throughout, but still retains blue on the cylinder. The “(Flaming Bomb) US PROPERTY GHD" marking is still clear on the topstrap, and a small post-war “OSTERREICH / (Eagle) / POLIZEI" stamp is present on the left rear of the frame as well. The smooth walnut grips are in very good-fine shape with light handling marks and small blemishes scattered about both panels, and are numbered to the gun on the interior. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a nice example of a Lend-Lease S&W, given to post-war Austrian authorities, and would make a nice representative example for a collection.
