One of its most recognizable features is the double hump design on the top of the receiver. It is a simple, pump-action design of which the early examples, such as this one, include an inertia lock. What this means is that the 520 will release the action bar only if the shotgun is fired. Dry firing will not unlock the 520. To do so, one must push an external button forward on the left side of the receiver. This 520 also has the safety lever on the inside of the trigger guard. Most of the external finish is worn away but given this shotgun’s probable use as an everyday defense (home, woods, ranch, etc...) or even law enforcement riot gun, its current condition is not really surprising. The bore is in excellent shape.
