Description:
Winchesters Model of 1885 Single Shot "HighWall" Sporting Rifle .40-82wcf. 30" Octagon Barrel #3 Weight. The serial number of this example is 61991 placing date of manufacture in 1892-93. Overall condition is fine. The Barrel has retained 95% of the original untouched factory finish toning to a very nice even plum / blue patina. The bore is near perfect with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The Case Hardened receiver is mostly silvered out with case colors only found in protected areas. The action is mechanically perfect.
