About Olamic Knives:
Olamic Tactical is a family-owned and operated knife companyt started in 2010 in California. Olamic began with fixed blades and expanded into folders in 2013. To do so we brought along ABS Master Smith Michael Vagnino and built a small facility in Visalia, CA. The goal of Olamic is to combine old world handwork learned from its fixed blade knife making combined with modern material,s to make custom folders
Wayfarer 247T Foldier:
The Wayfarer 247 was first released in May 2016 and Olamic hasn't stopped perfecting it since. Olamic never stops looking for new ways to work with titanium, add features, and create unique builds there are millions of possible ways to create one. The Wayfarer 247T is available in four blade shapes: Drop Point, Harpoon, Sheepscliffe, and Tanto. The Wayfarer blades are made with Bohler M390 stainless steel and one of the recent wave of 'super steels' heralded by knife makers all over the world. It has characteristics of high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. This means that it sharpens to a very fine edge that retains sharpness even through hard use.
The Wayfarer utilizes caged bearings, a ceramic ball detent, an internal stop pin, and a detent ramp. The detent ramp is a small groove or chamfer milled into the tang of blade making the action a little smoother when closing the knife. Rather than the ball detent hitting the tang jarringly, this groove makes rentry smoother and easier. Each Wayfarer comes with a pivot tool to adjust the tension when opening. The detent ramp and other details give the action of the 247 an almost hydraulic feel. The blade practically “whooshes” open as if there were a pneumatic piston inside. The blade fires hard no matter what, and the action is smooth and glassy. The detent is strong, but the detent ramp and thick handle smooth it out whether you are opening or closing the knife.
Opening and closing the blade of the Wayfarer 247 is a uniquely satisfying experience.
