Description:
Selling my Martini Cadet Rifle in 357 Magnum. These single shot rifles were first imported into the United States in the 1950's and 1960's for the bargain price of around $9.95 in 1950's dollars, LOL. Needless to say, the prices have risen and nice examples are getting harder to find.    The majority of these rifle were imported in the original caliber of .310 Greener and the "resourceful" importers decided that they would sell more rifles if they were stamped 32-20 caliber, which they deemed "close enough" despite the poor accuracy that incorrect caliber would deliver.    This rifle was professionally converted to fire 357 Magnum back when they were originally imported, likely by re-boring or relining the factory barrel, as all original markings are present. The rifle was not re-stamped 357 magnum, when it was converted.    The rifle really likes the Fiocchi 158 grain 357 Magnum loads, as these are on the warm side and correspond to what was available in this caliber in the 1950's and 1960's. Accuracy is around 1.25" at 50 yards with the factory adjustable iron sites. Of course the rifle will shoot 38 special as well and other weights of bullet in 357 magnum, as you desire. The gun is also drilled and tapped for a receiver sight as well, which was common at the time.     The rifle looks to be either polished of perhaps a very old re-blued and was originally purchased in this condition. I say that, because the metal and wood look far, far better than any others I have come across in the last 40 years or so.    Great rifle, lots of fun for the whole family, so why sell. Its basically a safe queen and my children have zero interest in it, as it isn't a "video game" gun, LOL. I'd like it to go to a good home, where it will be appreciated.   C&R Eligible. Buyer pays actual shipping costs. Certified funds only or if you are local, private face-to-face sale in North Phoenix area in Anthem. Face-to-Face sales are Cash Only and buyer must be willing to show your Arizona state issued ID and sign a bill of sale, as required by law. Price is $900 and that puts it in the middle of the pack, which seems to range from the $700 to $1,500 range.    Don't wait, as this is a real nice firearm and nice ones don't come along very often.
