LIVERPOOL Retailed WEBLEY No. 5 Express Revolver
.360 Express Sold by Hooton & Jones of Liverpool
Here we present a Webley & Scott No. 5 Express Double Action Revolver in .360 Express, made circa 1914 in England. This little revolver shares features with the earlier Webley RIC and Bulldog lines and is a compact little double action revolver that was great for self-defense and as a hideout gun. The cylinder is fluted to make it lighter and the grip is still nicely contoured. The pommel is equipped with a lanyard for retention if such was desired.
This revolver is marked “HOOTON & JONES/60. DALE St. LIVERPOOL” on the top strap. The left side of the frame is marked with the “W&S” winged bullet along with “WEBLEY’S/No. 5/360 CF”. Birmingham proof and view marks found on the cylinder, barrel and frame.
The overall condition is near fine. 20% of the original blue finish remains. The markings are clear and legible. The numbers match. The checkered hardwood grips are in great shape. The bore is fine, bright with strong rifling. The action is excellent. Here is another Webley that you don’t see much!
