Description:
This pristine MX16 with a straight English grip and upgraded (SC3 quality) wood may have only been test fired at the factory. I have not shot it. The story of these first MX16's is interesting as they are very unique.
Perazzi only made a limited run (about 50) of these 16 gauge guns (and a few bored in 12 gauge) for a short period in the late 1990's.
It features a fixed trigger group with flat or V springs (for faster lock time and a crisp trigger pull) and an excellent top barrel selector like an MX12. I believe it is the only model to have this combination of features as they are the only model of Perazzi to feature leaf springs in a non-detachable action, with barrel selector on the tang where it should be. The squared bottom monobloc and breech/lockup are identical to an MX8, and don't have a cut in the bottom barrel (used on MX12, etc. as the coil spring guns do not have rebounding hammers) - the MX16 has rebounding hammers due to the leaf springs. It comes with a special tool to change the springs if needed and extra springs.

These are very strong actions with the best features of both of the most popular models (MX8 and MX12) and elimination of the downsides of both!.

This gun has 28 1/2 inch barrels (1.56kg weight) wonderfully struck down and no side ribs for lightness and balance. Choked IC (.010) & IM (.024) The ventilated 7 mm wide top rib is flat and parallel- perfect for field use and target aquisition.  The well figured and tastefully finished stock (not shiny or plasticky) measures 14 3/4 inch LOP to a nicely checkered butt,  1 7/16 DAC and 2 1/8 DAH with slight cast off at toe. It weighs a dynamic 7 pounds 5 ounces and balances extremely well between the hands. Slim English game style forend. The ejectors throw snap caps 15 feet and they land together.

A nice square 7/8 ounce or 1 ounce load in a 16 bore is very efficient ballistic-ally and patterns very evenly with a far shorter shot-string than smaller bores. More of the shot arrives at near the same time and has fewer holes in the pattern.
In its original factory case with tools, manual.  A time capule. A lot of value and rarity for this price.
