Early D Grade Lefever guns are seen with some regularity, but rarely do we see one that has special features like this one has. The gun has a clear barrel legend which states "Kilby Damascus Steel Manufactured By Lefever Arms Co." on tops of both barrel tubes and barrels are 30" Long. The gun has a special gold inlaid monogram on the trigger guard with the letters "FPC". This is an extremely rare feature and surely original and special order. The gun was made with double triggers (originally gold plated), splinter forend with engraved push button release, and capped pistol grip English Walnut buttstock. The pad is an older replacement Hawkins which should be replaced. The gun is a cocking rod era gun with pivot opener.
Of great importance is a small "S" Engraved in the game scene on the left side. This is likely the hallmark of A.E. Spangler who mostly likely engraved this special order Lefever. Signed Lefevers are an extreme rarity!!!
