This 1918 dated DWM Luger was actually brought back after World War 2 by an American G.I., where is has remained in storage for the last 50 years. This DWM Luger is an all-original and 100% matching gun except for the magazine, which is a WW1 period magazine. This Luger would be an excellent choice for someone that wants an original German Luger that they can shoot without hurting it. This gun was likely 96% plus when it was brought back to the States, but because it was immediately put up into storage in a holster and never cared for, the gun developed rust, particularly where it was in contact with leather for decades. As you can see from the pictures the rest of the Luger is really clean and attractive, with nice gripstraps and even some original factory "straw" yellow finish showing on the trigger, mag release, and ejector. The original grips are in great shape, free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and show very little wear on either side. The bore in this DWM is good with strong rifling throughout and just a little light pitting in the grooves. All of the numbered parts on this Luger are matching and original, and all of the controls on this pistol are in perfect working order. We have no doubt that it will shoot just as accurately and reliably today as it did when it left the factory in 1918. This D.W.M. P-08 comes with one original & correct factory wood-bottom magazine that is proper for the gun but is not matching numbered.
