Description:
This is a very nice World War 2 production Springfield M1 Garand that was built in 1945. After service in World War 2 and possibly Korea, this Springfield went thru the U.S. Military's arsenal rebuild program where it was sent to the Red River Army Depot in Texas for a re-work. Despite the arsenal re-work it still retains it's original Springfield 1945 barrel which gauges a "1" at the muzzle and a "3" at the throat, with a nice bright bore. The parkerized finish on all of the metal parts appears to be original and in excellent condition overall. The stock set is in great shape as well, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage. The stock has a nice clear "R.R.A.D." cartouche on the left side of the buttstock and a boxed "P" on the inside of the pistol grip. All of the stock hardware is intact and in excellent shape. All of the controls on this M1 Garand are in perfect working order and the action is slick and precise. we have no doubt that this M1 Garand would shoot just as reliably and accurately today as the day it left the factory. As you can see from the pictures, this is a very clean and attractive Springfield M1 Garand. This M1 Garand would be the perfect choice for someone who wants a rifle that they can proudly display as a legitimate WW2 production rifle, but still enjoy shooting it at the range or farm without harming it's long-term investment potential.
