Description:
This Winchester Model 71 is a lever action repeating rifle in .348 W.C.F. Cal. It has a 24 inch barrel with a hooded front blade sight. Ghost ring sight rear. The stock is a smooth walnut pistol grip with a checkered steel crescent. It is a slightly modified version of the Winchester Model 1886. The rifle and cartridge were very effective against any North American big game in heavy timber if using a 250 grain bullet. Once very popular for hunting in Canada and Alaska. The Model 71 has a loyal following for what is arguably "the finest big bore lever gun ever been."
