Description:
Winchester Model of 1894 Sporting Rifle Special Order .38/55wcf. with Factory 30 inch Rapid Taper Barrel. The serial number of this example is 340XX placing date of manufacture in 1895. Overall condition is very good with the Barrel and Magazine tube retaining 80-85% of the original factory finish toning to a very nice even Blue / Gray. The bore is dark, however the rifling is present. I see lots fouling / leading in the bore. A good scrubbing with Hope's #9 should bring the Bore back substantially. The receiver has retained approx. 40% of its original untouched factory finish with a tight, smooth mechanically perfect action. Wood to metal fit is very good looks like the Butt Stock has had some light sanding and varnish added, not a bat job. Very nice Special Order Antique 1894 in the most sought after Caliber.
