This is a 1916 dated WW1 German Army P-08 Luger holster in very good condition that was manufactured by a rare maker, "Werk Genossenschaft" in Berlin. This holster is a beautiful dark chocolate brown color on the exterior, and the leather is still in excellent condition, flexible and soft. It shows only some minor handling/storage marks in places but nothing that stands out as an eyesore. There are no tears anywhere in the leather throughout the holster, and the hinge-piece leather, belt loops, inner tool pouch, and magazine pouch are all 100% intact. The thin leather lifting-strap is in great shape and fully-functional. The leather strap that secures the lid and the buckle are in excellent condition, pretty unusual for these holsters. All of the original stitching is still tight and intact as well, rare for a Luger holster over 102 years old. The holster is maker-marked on the inside back panel, and the stamp is crisp, clean, and easily legible. It consists of the maker's name in a circle pattern around "Berlin" with the date of manufacture and "34" stamped below it ("34" is possibly a contract code or inspection code). As you can see from the pictures, this Luger holster is a beautiful piece with still a near-perfect shape. There are no bends or creases where there shouldnt be, and both the holster and extra magazine pouch are in perfect form to hold the gun and mag securely. These WW1 Luger holsters are getting harder and harder to find in good condition by any maker, much less a scarce and desirable one like this one. This holster is definitely a "collector-grade" piece and would be a fine addition to any Luger that needs a nice holster in your collection. SOLD |
