Description:
Winchester Model of 1886 Sporting Rifle in the very rare caliber .38/70wcf. This is a standard rifle with factory 26 inch Octagon Barrel. The serial number of this example is 959XX Placing date of manufacture in 1895. Overall condition is very good to fine with 85+% of the original untouched factory blue finish remaining on the Barrel and Magazine Tube. The bore is good and shootable with fouling and leading present. The bore is dark with the rifling present. The receiver is Case Hardened and has silvered out with no Case Colors observed. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 90-95% of the original untouched factory finish. Very nice untouched rare caliber 1886.
