Brass Barreled Pistol Made Circa 1850
Here we present an antique Percussion Pistol, made circa 1850 in Birmingham, England, likely in the Gun Quarter. The Gun Quarter is a district of the city of Birmingham, England, which was for many years a center of the world's gun-manufacturing industry, specializing in the production of military firearms and sporting guns. It is an industrial area to the north of the city center, bounded by Steelhouse Lane, Shadwell Street and Loveday Street. This pistol features a very nice brass barrel and a captive ramrod under the barrel.
The overall condition is very good. The brass and iron have dark patinas. Markings are clear. The stock is smooth and solid with the handling marks you would expect. The bore is smooth. The action is strong.
