Description:
This hitched horse hair quirt came from the collection of a recently deceased friend. It is in excellent condition and from the patina, appears to be over 100 years old. It accompanied the hitched horse hair bridle that I have listed separately, (see my other listings). Most of these were made by prisoners in the western states beginning in the late 1800s. They required hundreds of hours to produce. I decided to offer theses items individually as the stiching pattern on the quirt does not match that of the bridle. They do, however, appear to be about the same age. The price on this quirt is $450 or make offer plus $25 FedEx shipping to anywhere in the continental US. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you purchase both items, the quirt can be shipped in the same box as the bridle and no additional shipping will be required.
