Winchesters Model of 1886 Sporting Rifle with Factory 26 inch Barrel .45-70 Gov't. The serial number of this example is 66017 placing date of manufacture in 1892. Overall condition of this rifle is very good with the Barrel and Magazine retaining 75% of the original untouched factory finish toned to a very nice plum patina. The Case Hardened Receiver is silvered out with no Case Colors observed. The Action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect (hammer safety notch Neds cleaned up) Wood to metal fit is perfect with the stock having normal hits and handling marks.
