Description:
Serial #A5925, 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win.), 29" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves at the muzzle. This is an Austrian-made rifle but still has the crisp Chilean crest on the receiver, as well as the “7.62 / N" conversion markings on the bridge, and an import marking on the right side of the barrel. The rifle retains 85-90% of an arsenal reapplied finish that has silvered at the muzzle, and along the high edges and projections. The mismatched, but correct bolt has a general mottled gray patina with some freckling and pinprick pitting on the handle. Walnut stoc and handguard have numerous small handling marks and surface blemishes throughout, with a crisp 1912 Chilean cartouche on the right side of the butt; a large rack number in white on the left: “52". The rifle still has the original metal cleaning rod, and the correct, Gew.98 style QD rear swivel. These are great quality rifles, originally chambered in 7mm Mauser, but rechambered later to the NATO cartridge. FFL or C&R
