Description:
Serial #26092, .22 RF, 26" part round/part octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some very mild freckling within the grooves. This is a rare No.14 with the factory tang and beech sights as well as the fancy grain stock. The original configuration proven due to the lack of open rear sight. A very nice rifle, made with graceful, svelte lines that retains 85-90% of the original blue along the barrel with some silvering at the muzzle, as well as on the breech facet edges. The frame and forend iron retain a similar amount of the original nickel which has flaked lightly, and has freckled brown in spots (heaviest on the trigger guard bow). The walnut forend and buttstock have nicely figured wood with a few minor handling marks and small blemishes throughout the original varnish finish, and some flaking of the nickel on the crescent-shaped buttplate. The rifle is fitted with a Beach combination front sight, and a Lyman tang-mounted rear peep sight. The lock-up is tight and the rifle rates fine condition overall. Antique
