EXCELLENT MODEL 30 S EXPRESS PRE-WAR BOLT ACTION RIFLE IN .30-06 CALIBER. The Model 30 S Express was a fancier rifle than the standard Model 30. This one with 22” barrel, correct Lyman receiver sight with Redfield hooded ramp front sight, has the correct checkered pistol grip and forearm. It still retains the Remington marked steel butt plate and pistol grip cap and sling swivel studs (most of these seem to have had their original butt plates replaced with recoil pads). This was Remington’s first bolt action sporting rifle (aside from the earlier Keene and Lee Models) utilizing the World War I 1917 Enfield action. It retains nearly all the original blue, has excellent walnut with sharp checkering and a bright sharp bore. The rear barrel sight has a correct filler blank and even the steel floor plate retains about all the blue. Never drilled and tapped for a scope (most have been unfortunately). Wonderful pre-W.W.II quality and hand fitting. This one seems to have seen very little use.
