An extremely rare Winchester model 53 in 44-40 with the takedown option.Built in 1925,the second year for the model 53.This rifle is in excellent all original condition.It retains 90% of the original blue and 95% of the original wood finish.The bore is mint with sharp rifling.The wood is sound with no cracks or damage.Of the total number of model 53s produced,only around 3200 were in 44-40.Of that number fewer than 1000 had the takedown option.This would make a fine addition to any Winchester collection and is a fun rifle to shoot.C&R eligible.Partial trades for quality guns possible.
